Be Aware - Read The Labels

Today, a large number of RVer's still use RV Holding Tank Chemical Treatments . Most of these treatments, according to the EPA, contain Chemicals Dangerous to humans, plants, animals and septic or sewage treatment systems.

The chemicals in these Treatments are generally designed to suppress or to kill bacterial growth. Chemicals, masking agents and deodorizer's are added to preserve holding tank waste water and chemically cover odors.

Glutaraldehyde

Glutaraldehyde is also known as embalming fluid. It retards bacterial growth and covers sewage odor. It is a known eye and inhalation irritant

Paraformaldehyde

Chemical also known as Polymerized Formaldehyde

Paraformaldehyde is very toxic to humans (see formaldehyde)

Para-dichlorobenzene

Para-dichlorobenzene is a common ingredient in mothball's, urinal cakes, toilet bowl fresheners and is a known carcinogen and drinking water contaminant. It is also moderately toxic to humans.

* lethal dose for 150 lb person is between 1 ounce to 1 pint

* lethal dose for 150 lb person is between 1 teaspoon to 1 ounce

Ammonium Compounds

These are Bacterial Pesticides that kill bacteria. They are often found in sprays for surface bacteria. This chemical and most of the chemicals discussed above do not provide a source of oxygen to the friendly bacteria.

Products That Do Not List Any Ingredients
